Really funny. Mainstream media headlines are screaming: Iran allegedly planning nuclear weapon stronger than bomb used on Hiroshima.

Excerpts from AP read:

“The diagram was leaked by officials of a country critical of Iran’s atomic program to bolster their arguments that Iran’s nuclear program must be halted before it produces a weapon. They provided the diagram only on condition that they and their country were not named.”

Hmmm, wonder which country that could be.

And then this gem:

“A senior diplomat who is considered neutral on the issue confirmed that the graph obtained by the AP was indeed one of those cited by the IAEA in that report. He spoke only on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the issue.”

Right, because the concept of a “neutral” diplomat is hardly an oxymoron. The “international community” is just filled with neutral diplomats weighing in on policy.

In sum this huge story that is now all over mainstream media, is essentially based on a slightly fancier version of Netanyahu’s cartoon bomb with technical terms in Farsi thrown in, coupled with an anonymous nation and a diplomat who refuse to be named. I am sure AP would have leaked such a diagram had it been submitted by anti-imperialist nations and diplomats who insisted on their anonymity with the aim of exposing Israel’s nuclear capacity. Right.

I am not calling for a genocide against Israelis as some will surely claim, but the fact that 90% of Israeli Jews support the attack on Gaza only proves that there are no civilians in Israel, only occupiers, settlers and a militarized society of past and present army conscripts. These militarized people have no place in occupied Palestine.

Excerpts from the Haaretz piece which is only available to subscribers:
Six days into the aerial attack on Gaza, 84 percent of the Israeli public supports Operation Pillar of Defense, with 12 percent opposing it, according to a Haaretz-Dialog poll taken Sunday. The poll surveyed proportional samples of Jews and Arabs, indicating that Jewish support for the war stands at upwards of 90 percent.

At the same time, however, only 30 percent of the public supports a ground attack in Gaza.

Netanyahu and Barak now have much higher level of approval ratings than in previous surveys before the operation - a jump of about 20 percent.

Olmert and Peretz had 85 percent approval ratings for the first week or two of that war; Netanyahu and Barak now have 55 percent and 52 percent approval ratings, respectively.
The results of the survey indicate that now would be the best time to end the operation - at least politically, if not necessarily strategically or militarily. Previous experience shows that from now on, it will only get worse for the leadership as matters become more complicated and the public’s exuberance wears off.”
P.S. I registered for 10 free articles from Haaretz using the password “deathtoisrael” and it worked just fine. Yes, I am very proud of myself.

Netanyahu: Israel 'appalled' by Syria massacre; Iran and Hezbollah must also be held responsible - Haaretz Daily Newspaper | Israel News

You know when I really think about it, the details of this unthinkable crime are very much reminiscent of Israel’s gruesome massacre of children in Sabra and Chatila in 1982. Am not so sure that killing babies is part of al-Qaeda’s modus operandi, looks more like it was taken right out of an IDF operations manual. “Netanyahu expressed “appall at the continuous slaughter of innocent civilians by (President Bashar) Assad’s forces.” He added that “Iran and Hezbollah cannot be separated from Assad’s massacre, and the world needs to take action against them as well.”
